In late Spring, 2004, Whippet rescue got a call from a family that had taken in a "Whippet" puppy. The family had found him in a trash dumpster after hearing his cries. The family wanted to keep him, even took him to their vet for a check-up. The little fellow was fine but, given that the family lived in an apartment, they decided they couldn't keep him. Thus the call to rescue.

Well, as things turned out, Dempsey is an Italian Greyhound, not a Whippet puppy. He has made himself quite at home here on the farm, every bit as full of mischief as any terrier.
